The Lakeside BBQ & Firepit offers a beautiful outdoor dining space for larger groups, with picnic benches seating 32+ guests and four generous BBQ grills.
Spend a leisurely afternoon cooking and dining together in the sunshine, or gather around the warmth of the fire as day turns to dusk.
Whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday, enjoying a family reunion or bringing colleagues together for an informal evening, it's one of the loveliest places on the estate to share good food and conversation.

Includes exclusive use of the lakeside BBQ and firepit area (not the lake itself), four large grills, firewood and cleaning of the firepit and grills afterwards.

Seating for 32+, with additional benches available by prior arrangement. Consecutive two-hour sessions can be reserved for longer gatherings, subject to availability.
Food and drinks are not included. Bring BBQ utensils and firelighters from your accommodation.
Make the most of the afternoon sunshine beside the lake. Fire up the four large BBQ grills, prepare your favourite dishes and enjoy a relaxed meal together, with plenty of space for everyone around the picnic benches.
Alongside traditional BBQ cooking, we also have a hanging skillet pan and a 3.5-litre cooking pot, perfect for frying vegetables or warming smaller portions of homemade chilli, curry or stew over the fire.
As the light softens over the valley, gather around the firepit and enjoy the warmth of the flames as day turns to night. A lovely way to round off an afternoon together before heading back to your accommodation.

We can recommend local farm shops offering quality BBQ packs, as well as specialist BBQ caterers providing slow-smoked meats, freshly prepared sides and menus for larger celebrations.
Simply arrange your food directly with your chosen supplier, then gather everyone around the lake to enjoy it together.

Our Lakeside BBQ & Firepit is a self-catering experience, giving you the freedom to cook and dine together at your own pace.
We'll prepare the area before your session, with four large BBQ grills in position and a supply of firewood ready for you. You'll need to light the fire yourselves, allowing approximately 30 minutes for it to become established before cooking.
You're welcome to bring prepared dishes to warm over the fire, as well as food to cook from scratch. Our hanging cooking pot holds 3.5 litres.
Please bring your food, drinks, BBQ utensils, firelighters, plates and cutlery from your accommodation. We recommend bringing reusable, non-glass cups and plates for safety beside the lake, as broken glass can be hazardous to guests and wildlife. Please note that non-glass tableware is not provided.
At the end of your session, simply take your belongings and rubbish back to your accommodation. We'll take care of cleaning the firepit and grills.

All our accommodation already includes free, unlimited use of its own private BBQ and firepit facilities. Lakeview Farmhouse has a BBQ and Kadai firebowl in its private garden, while each Safari Lodge Treehouse has its own BBQ/firepit deck with seating for six.

Our latest Lakeside BBQ & Firepit session finishes at 9.30pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the evening before returning to your accommodation.
Longlands is nestled within a peaceful private valley where sound travels surprisingly far, particularly in the evenings. To ensure everyone can enjoy the tranquillity of the estate, quiet hours begin at 10pm across all outdoor spaces.
We simply ask that guests finish their session at the agreed time and are considerate of others staying nearby.

Yes. The Lakeside BBQ & Firepit is a self-service experience. We'll provide the firewood and prepare the grills, but you'll need to light and manage the fire yourselves.

As this is an outdoor experience, sessions are weather-dependent. If conditions are unsuitable, please contact us to discuss whether an alternative time is available.
Absolutely! Children are very welcome to join your lakeside gathering.
However, the firepit is situated beside an open lake, so children must be closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times, particularly around the water, hot grills and open flames.
