Our Fire & Ice Experience is provided by Secret Sauna, a wonderful local business specialising in traditional wood-fired sauna experiences.
Keziah and her team transport and prepare the sauna to Longlands especially for your private booking, positioning it close to our spring-fed lake so you can enjoy the contrast of warm sauna sessions and refreshing wild swims.
Prefer to simply relax in the warmth? An alternative location higher in the valley, with spectacular countryside views towards the coast, can also be arranged.
As the sauna is brought to Longlands especially for you, we recommend booking well in advance to secure your preferred date and time.

A private one-hour wood-fired sauna experience costs £180 per group, including delivery and setup at Longlands.
Our local partner, Secret Sauna, brings their traditional wood-fired sauna to the estate especially for your booking, creating a completely private experience surrounded by nature.
The sauna accommodates up to eight guests at a time, with the freedom to alternate between the warmth, fresh air and optional dips in our private spring-fed lake.
All bookings and payments are arranged directly with Secret Sauna.
Can larger groups book the sauna?
Absolutely! Although the sauna seats eight guests at a time, larger groups can take turns enjoying the warmth, relaxing outdoors and taking refreshing dips in the lake.
For larger gatherings, please discuss your group size with Secret Sauna so they can recommend the most suitable arrangements.
Do we have to swim in the lake?
Not at all! Wild swimming is completely optional.
You're very welcome to enjoy the warmth of the wood-fired sauna and the beautiful countryside surroundings without entering the lake.
Where is the sauna located?
For our Fire & Ice Experience, the sauna is positioned close to our private spring-fed lake, allowing guests to enjoy the contrast of hot sauna sessions and refreshing wild swims.
Alternatively, an elevated location higher in the valley can be arranged, offering spectacular views towards the North Devon coastline.
The exact position will depend on your preferred experience and weather conditions.
Is the sauna included with our accommodation?
The wood-fired sauna is an optional experience provided by our local partner, Secret Sauna, and is not included within the accommodation price.
Private sessions cost £180 for one hour, including delivery and setup at Longlands.
Can we book the sauna if we're not staying at Longlands?
Our Fire & Ice Experience is exclusively available to guests staying at Longlands Devon and isn't open to day visitors or the general public.
If you're staying in Lakeview Farmhouse or one of our Safari Lodge Treehouses, you're very welcome to arrange a private sauna session during your stay.
What should we bring?
Secret Sauna will provide guidance when you book your session. You'll generally need swimwear, towels and drinking water, along with suitable footwear for moving between the sauna and outdoors.
